Distinguished musician Andrew Crabtree will be taking his audience on a musical journey through time, which starts before the piano was even invented!

For over 300 years the Harpsichord was the favourite keyboard instrument in palaces and grand houses throughout Europe. However, in the 17th century it was soon to be replaced by a newcomer.

Why was the piano invented? Why was it called the “piano?” With these intriguing questions the journey will begin, discovering surprising changes along the way. From Handel to Scott Joplin we will hear, through its music, “The Story of the Piano.”

All funds raised will go to help fund the Church's ongoing commitment to its mission and outreach activities and are intended to increase the Church's involvement with the local community. We are grateful for the sponsorship of Beau Castle Lodge 7607 RAOB in putting on this event
