Music in the Chapel
French Horn recital with a difference
The next recital in Bewdley Methodist Church’s series of “Music in the Chapel” concerts will see the return of the sound of brass for the first time since the Chapel band was replaced by a harmonium in 1860.
On Saturday 21st July at 2.30 pm distinguished musician Claire Burnell, accompanied by Andrew Crabtree on piano, will be playing a varied programme of music for the French Horn.
Claire’s vibrant playing reflects her love of the instrument and her joy in exhibiting her skill and she is in great demand from orchestras and ensembles all over the country. The concert will feature music from the 18th century up to recent times, from composers as varied as Mozart to Lloyd Webber. This concert will be an unique opportunity for local music lovers to hear the French Horn played as a solo instrument rather than within the confines of an orchestra. Not to be missed!
Andrew Crabtree, who has delighted ‘Music in the Chapel’ audiences on previous occasions, will also perform three piano solos.
Tickets for the concert cost £8, including light refreshments, and can be booked with Mike Dernie Tel 01299 400284, email: firstname.lastname@example.org or Neil Sollom Tel 07780 650491 email: email@example.com.
All funds raised will go to help the church's ongoing commitment to its mission and outreach activities and are intended to increase the church's involvement with the local community. We are grateful for the sponsorship of Hillandale Caravans.
